Hello and Welcome to the Constant Epicurean. My name is Dennis and I have a passion for cooking, eating, traveling and writing about it. I have cooked professionally for over 25 years and am a graduate of The Art Institute of Atlanta’s School of Culinary Arts. I have served as Executive Chef at Restaurant 57th, Sweet Auburn Seafood and Sala, Sabor de Mexico among others. I have spent the better part of 3 decades trying to find what makes food so deliciously appealing and mesmerizing. Everyone remembers their grandmothers best dish. That imagery comes flooding back when you catch a smell that reminds you of her kitchen all those years ago.
Food resonates through time, ever capturing the curiosities and attentions of peoples in all places and at all times. But what is it that makes food so profoundly important to us beyond just sustenance? In my travels and experiences I have found it to be the people we share our food with. One of the most beloved activities of man, enjoyed and recorded throughout the ages, is the social dinner party. Thrown by Kings, commoners, Emperor’s and paupers since the beginning of civilization. Everyone on every level enjoys a good gathering with an assortment of food. An activity that truly transcends time and space. The only thing that comes close is writing about it. Take a look around our website and explore some of the places, foods and cultures we’ve experienced.
